Talent Games - Day 1
Huge well done to our 6 ADC divers competing in the Talent Games event in Leeds this weekend. Talent Games is a 2 day competition that tests physical and technical skills both in and out of the pool.
Today we had the dryland events. There were a number of physical skills testing their strength, flexibilty, coordination and technical competencies. The divers performed 5 skills on the dryboards, a gymnastic style floor routine, drills, and strength and conditioning skills including pike ups, chin ups, sprints, long jumps, and handstand holds.
After a long journey with several changes of plans and many detours down yesterday the divers did Anna and I so proud and represented themselves and ADC so well.
Talent Games - Day 2
Yeterdays events at Talent Games took place in the pool, and the divers competed a series of required dives across 1m, 3m platform, and 3m line ups.
Anna and I are so proud of all 6 of our divers who competed today. They all put in some absolutly beautiful dives and have worked so hard in the lead up to this event, it was wonderful to see they a did themselves justice. Just being selected to compete at this event is a massive achievement in and of itself.
Team Aberdeen took the top spot as the Overall Boys Team Champion out of the 11 teams competing. Well done Boys!!!!
The individual results from Dryland, Pool and Combined overall results can be seen below. A special shout out must got to Samuel Tommison who claimed the Bronze medal in the Group D Boys Pool and Dryland competition and also a Silver in the Overall combined results. Plus also making it through to the knockout finals for top 8 competitiors on each board regardless of age or gender. Finishing 5th on the 1m and 3rd on the Platforms.
We want to say a final massive thank you to Mirjam (Nicos mum), Stuart (Samuel's dad) and Judy who at the last minute took on the unexpected 8hr drive down to Leeds, due to rail network being cancelled from vatious flooding. You three are absolutely amazing and this trip would not have gone ahead with you!!!
